Health Benefits: Bancha is a Japanese green tea made
from the same Camellia sinensis plant as Sencha. Rich in minerals like calcium
and iron, it suits children, vegans, and pregnant women. Its tannins and
anti-acidic properties aid digestion, soothe the stomach, and support post-meal
comfort. Higher fluoride content helps protect against tooth decay and bad
breath. Bancha may also help manage blood glucose, though more research is
needed. Simple, mild, and affordable, it remains a classic everyday tea in
Japan enjoyed for its gentle wellness benefits.
Taste: lighter vegetal flavors of grass, celery, and
wet wood, yet it is very assertive
Brewing Guide: Use about
2 teaspoons for every 225 ml of water. Steep it in hot water 70°c for 30 sec.
Suitable for multiple infusions.
