Tan Yang is named after the village in south Fujian province.  Tanyang Kungfu is one of the most popular black teas of Fujian (together with the Lapsang Souchong). The tea is picked by one bud with one or two leaves. Health Benefits: Black teas contain antioxidants, which help in the prevention of some cancers and help reduce the effects of aging that is caused by free radicals. They can also reduce the risk of strokes and heart attacks due to natural chemicals that reduce cholesterol.

Brewing:   Fill the teapot 5 grams (1-2 teaspoons) tea leaves for every 230ml of water. Steep tea leaves in hot water at 70°c for 20 sec. for the first and second brewing. Gradually increase steeping time and temperature for subsequent brewing.
