Rosehips are the fruit of rose bushes and when fresh can have more than 60 times as much vitamin C as one orange.
Health benefits: The fruit acids and pectin in rose hip can help a mild diuretic and laxative. It contents a high vitamin A that keep the skin elastic and nourished, beneficial to the immune system and proving the anti-inflammatory properties. Variety of antioxidants helps cancer preventative and helps against cardiovascular disease.
Taste: undeniably tangy and somewhat sour, very similar to the tart taste of cranberries.
Brewing Guide:
Fill 1 teaspoon of Rosehip to a cup (250ml) of boiling water. Covered and steep it for 1 minutes. Suitable for multiple infusions. Serves well hot or cold.
Tip: Don’t throw them out once they’ve been used to make tea, eat them after you’re done drinking the tea or add to soups or serve as a side at the supper table. They still have a lot of nutritional value even after they’ve been used in teas.
